Frosty VoxBox

I was lucky enough to be chosen to receive the Frosty VoxBox with several products free to try.

All of the products, but two, were regular size and not sample size.

Here's a quick review of each product:

No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum - smooth and made my skin feel soft.  I wish there had been more to try but I will definitely repurchase to see how longer use performs on my skin.

Rimmel Make up Remover and Scandal Eyes eyeliner - the make up remover worked well, but the packaging claims to be oil free.  My eye area still felt kind of oily after use.  The eyeliner is a long wearing and waterproof.  I'd definitely repurchase.

Ecotools Styler + Smoother brush - this is a great brush.  Love their products.

NYC Lipstick in Sugar Plum - smooth and has good pigment but must be touched up often.

Celestial Tea Candy Cane Lane - Loved it.  I repurchased this with the coupon that accompanied the sample.  LOVE IT!!

Red Vines Fruit Vines Bites in Cherry - this is a nice snack that tastes very much like the flavor it's supposed to be.  Definitely a repurchase!

Can't wait until the next opportunity to get a voxbox!!

Rimmel Product Review

I received two Rimmel products complimentary to try from Influenster in a #FrostyVoxBox.

I'd only tried a couple Rimmel products in the past, so I didn't have a lot of experience with this line of beauty products.

The make up remover was comparable to other removers I'd tried in the past.  It says it's oil free but my eye area still felt kind of oily after removing my eye make up.  It removed everything very well, so I'd give this product a repurchase if I couldn't find my go-to remover.  Over all, I'd say this is a good drugstore product and I'd repurchase it.

Grade: B

The second product was a Scandal Eyes eyeliner.  I found this to have great staying power and was waterproof.  This is definitely an eyeliner that I'd try again!
Grade: B+

Have a great day!

Freeman Bare Feet Review

I received a coupon from Influenster to try a Freeman Bare Feet product.

I chose the body creme.  It's safe to say this is one of the best body cremes I've ever tried.  It will be great for summer use after being in the sun or outdoors.

Thanks Influenster!

Summer Skin Care

Been off the grid for a couple of months.  Between vacations and illnesses, I'm ready to be back in the saddle.

What comes to mind as the weather warms up is skin care.  It's time to switch out the moisturizers, foundations and all around skin regimen.   With the summer, skin changes and can change colors.  (with limited or full sun exposure)

I also like to go a bit lighter on the facial products.  Light-medium foundation lets the skin breath during the summer months, but don't forget the SPF.  Also, a light moisturizer with just a little powder to cut the shine and you're good to go.

The key to summer skin is to moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize.

As for the eyes, lips and cheeks, the rave this summer is varied shades of orchid.  With fairer skin, lighter colors always compliment your skin.

Have a cool and happy skin summer!

Product Review - Boots Botanics Face Mask

Not the most flattering picture of myself, and it's certainly WAY out of character for me to post a picture of myself without makeup or my hair done.....

But, it is worth it to be able to review the Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask with Willowbark (3.30z and I received in the mail to try by Influenster)

I haven't used many clay masks in the past.  I'm not sure why.....lazy, I suppose.  This is the second clay/mud mask I've tried.

First of all, it dried very quickly and I had to work fast.  I wasn't sure how much to apply so I was generous.  I could literally feel my skin tighten under the mask.  It was the coolest feeling.  I let it sit for 15 minutes.  I scared the be-jezus out of my dogs - they didn't know it was me.  After some sniffing, I think they approved.

Washing it off was pretty easy and not as messy as I thought it might be.  I used a warm washcloth, but I think next time I'll use the facial towelettes as the washcloth was kind of harsh and my skin was very red after I'd taken all the clay off.

On a scale of 10 (I love it +++) and 0 (ack, never to use again) I'd give this product at solid 7.  My pores shrunk and my skin was very soft (after the redness went away).  This is definitely something I'd purchase on my own in the future.

Thanks for letting me share!!

Weight Loss Journey Week 10

Well the scales aren't exactly showing a whole lot of progress (5 pounds to date), but my clothes sure are! Must be those pesky inches!

I think the biggest change I see and feel is how much better we're eating.  It's amazing how you feel when you eat only freshly made foods and steer clear of processed foods and sugars.  I still struggle with the now-and-again glass of wine, which eats up (no pun intended LOL) my daily points and the end of the day.  I've had to find other means to wet my whistle at the end of a long work day, and reserve enjoying spirits and wine for the weekends only.  It hasn't been that difficult.  I love Snapple Teas and they go well with everything.

Big W made the most amazing sammie last night for dinner.  The recipe will be below.  All I can say is this was AMAZE-BALLS and nutritious as well.  Who can't love turkey, pears and mozzarella cheese on bread???  Lord help me, it was good.

That's the thing.  Food tastes so much better to me.  I enjoy my meals, and I don't just woof food down because I'm bored, over hungry or depressed.

To anyone starting or thinking about starting a weight reduction -LIFE AND MINDSET CHANGING - plan, you can do it!!  It's NOT a diet.  It's changing the way you think and respond to food.  I've also had to deal with many of my own personal food triggers, and that in itself has been life changing.

I want you know I'm here....whatever you need.  Food ideas, moral support, or just be a sounding board!!

Have a beautiful day.

Becky

Turkey, Pear and Mozzarella Cheese Sammie

1 slice calorie reduced whole wheat bread (we used the 45 calorie Sara Lee bread)
1 thinly sliced Turkey cold cut meat
1/2 Sliced Pear (without the skin)
1-2 thinly sliced spiced mustard

To prepare:  On a cookie sheet, place your bread out, spread your mustard on, and then stack your turkey, pear and cheese.  Head in oven (under broiler) until cheese is melted.  Serve warm!  Bon Appetite!!
