Freeman Bare Feet Review

I received a coupon from Influenster to try a Freeman Bare Feet product.

I chose the body creme.  It's safe to say this is one of the best body cremes I've ever tried.  It will be great for summer use after being in the sun or outdoors.

Thanks Influenster!

Summer Skin Care

Been off the grid for a couple of months.  Between vacations and illnesses, I'm ready to be back in the saddle.

What comes to mind as the weather warms up is skin care.  It's time to switch out the moisturizers, foundations and all around skin regimen.   With the summer, skin changes and can change colors.  (with limited or full sun exposure)

I also like to go a bit lighter on the facial products.  Light-medium foundation lets the skin breath during the summer months, but don't forget the SPF.  Also, a light moisturizer with just a little powder to cut the shine and you're good to go.

The key to summer skin is to moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize.

As for the eyes, lips and cheeks, the rave this summer is varied shades of orchid.  With fairer skin, lighter colors always compliment your skin.

Have a cool and happy skin summer!

Product Review - Boots Botanics Face Mask

Not the most flattering picture of myself, and it's certainly WAY out of character for me to post a picture of myself without makeup or my hair done.....

But, it is worth it to be able to review the Boots Botanics Ionic Clay Mask with Willowbark (3.30z and I received in the mail to try by Influenster)

I haven't used many clay masks in the past.  I'm not sure why.....lazy, I suppose.  This is the second clay/mud mask I've tried.

First of all, it dried very quickly and I had to work fast.  I wasn't sure how much to apply so I was generous.  I could literally feel my skin tighten under the mask.  It was the coolest feeling.  I let it sit for 15 minutes.  I scared the be-jezus out of my dogs - they didn't know it was me.  After some sniffing, I think they approved.

Washing it off was pretty easy and not as messy as I thought it might be.  I used a warm washcloth, but I think next time I'll use the facial towelettes as the washcloth was kind of harsh and my skin was very red after I'd taken all the clay off.

On a scale of 10 (I love it +++) and 0 (ack, never to use again) I'd give this product at solid 7.  My pores shrunk and my skin was very soft (after the redness went away).  This is definitely something I'd purchase on my own in the future.

Thanks for letting me share!!

Weight Loss Journey Week 10

Well the scales aren't exactly showing a whole lot of progress (5 pounds to date), but my clothes sure are! Must be those pesky inches!

I think the biggest change I see and feel is how much better we're eating.  It's amazing how you feel when you eat only freshly made foods and steer clear of processed foods and sugars.  I still struggle with the now-and-again glass of wine, which eats up (no pun intended LOL) my daily points and the end of the day.  I've had to find other means to wet my whistle at the end of a long work day, and reserve enjoying spirits and wine for the weekends only.  It hasn't been that difficult.  I love Snapple Teas and they go well with everything.

Big W made the most amazing sammie last night for dinner.  The recipe will be below.  All I can say is this was AMAZE-BALLS and nutritious as well.  Who can't love turkey, pears and mozzarella cheese on bread???  Lord help me, it was good.

That's the thing.  Food tastes so much better to me.  I enjoy my meals, and I don't just woof food down because I'm bored, over hungry or depressed.

To anyone starting or thinking about starting a weight reduction -LIFE AND MINDSET CHANGING - plan, you can do it!!  It's NOT a diet.  It's changing the way you think and respond to food.  I've also had to deal with many of my own personal food triggers, and that in itself has been life changing.

I want you know I'm here....whatever you need.  Food ideas, moral support, or just be a sounding board!!

Have a beautiful day.

Becky

Turkey, Pear and Mozzarella Cheese Sammie

1 slice calorie reduced whole wheat bread (we used the 45 calorie Sara Lee bread)
1 thinly sliced Turkey cold cut meat
1/2 Sliced Pear (without the skin)
1-2 thinly sliced spiced mustard

To prepare:  On a cookie sheet, place your bread out, spread your mustard on, and then stack your turkey, pear and cheese.  Head in oven (under broiler) until cheese is melted.  Serve warm!  Bon Appetite!!

What I'm using most this week!! Friday Favorites and Fails

I'm kicking off my Friday Favorites or Fails...you know, what I've enjoyed all week and couldn't get enough of.

I received this lip gloss in my Julep Maven shipment this month.  All I have to say is Amaze-balls!  I've worn it over lipstick or alone all this week.  I'm addicted.  It has a hint of color but it's not overly glossy.  It makes whatever lipstick I'm wearing pop with even more color, and alone, my lips look luscious.  (I like that word but say luscious lips three times fast!!)

If you can get your hands on a Julep lip gloss, don't waste any time!!  I'll include their link below.

No fails this week....but there's always next week!

Here's to luscious lips and a relaxing weekend!!

Have a beautiful day!!

Boots Face Mask

I recently tried the Boots Botanics Face mask courtesy of Influenster.  I thought it went on very smooth and I felt is cleaned my pures very well, but I think it dried out my skin too much.  I give this product a B rating.

Use It Up February

This was the first time I've ever designated a whole month to using products I already have and not purchasing anything during the month.  I was surprised (but not to surprised) at how much I do really have on hand.  I was tempted a few times to break the rules but held strong.  Below are the products that I did use up and my review of them.

ELF Makeup Mist and Set $3 - I wish this product came in a bigger bottle. My local Walmart never has it on hand, and I'm always looking for it at Target (also hard to find) I've used this product as a mist pre/post makeup application and as a moistener for my beauty applicator. Love is and it's so affordable - will repurchase when you can find it! B+

Avon Naturals Body spray in Cherry Blossom $6.99. What I primarily used it to freshen was my bedding. Each morning before it was made the bed or when we changed the bedding each week. Cleans fresh and sweet smelling and lasted a long time. Might repurchase. C+

Este Lauder Eyelash Conditioner and Primer $22 - this has become my Holy Grail product. It has not only helped lengthen my eyelashes, but I have noticed my lashes are healthier and thicker. This is the first product like this that I've tried but I am not in the market of finding a new product unless I can find a drugstore dupe. I will repurchase. A+

Milani Face Powder in Medium I don't remember the price since I purchased it so long ago. - that's right, I reached pan on this powder. Probably the first time since I was a teenager I actually used a product so much I hit pan. I love this power and it made my foundation stay fresh almost all day. I have other face powders that I like equally or a bit more, but I am glad that I was able to use up this product. I can see myself repurchasing this product sometime in the future. I have other powders to use up and try. B-

Maybeline New Instant Rewind Eraser and Dark Spot Treatment Corrector ($8.00) Of all the liquid "concealers" I reach for this one the most. I use it after I've applied my foundation and it covers dark circles and any imperfections around my eyes, lips and nose. I highly recommend this product. A+

Bath and Body Works Cinnamon Caramel Swirl candle. ($10 purchased around Christmas) There is just a bit left, but I know after burning it later, it'll be all used up. I lit this candle every day in the month of February. It's fresh, sweet and makes the room smell warm and yummy. Bath and Body Works candles are well above most other brands. Even my husband loved this candle. Will repurchase it if I can find it. A

Cover Girl Outlast 3 in 1 foundation in creamy natural (can't remember the price) It's been a long time since I used up a foundation before it went "bad." This product's claim is to prime, conceal and blendability of a foundation. I don't know that it concealed or primed, but the foundation coverage was good. I really love the pump as I think I was able to get as much product out as possible. Not sure I'd repurchase since I have other foundations that I've liked better in the past, but I'm glad I was able to try this one. B
